On Monday, Feb. 23rd, Mayor Pro Tem
Youtsey signed a proclamation recognizing this week as FFA Week.
The proclamationhighlights the value of FFA in providing a strong foundation for our youth, promoting leadership, responsibility, and community involvement.
This proclamation invites everyone to recognize and celebrate the achievements of FFA members. We were honored to have representatives from Artesia FFA on hand for the signing of this proclamation.

PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, FFA and agriculture education provide a strong foundation for the youth of America and the future of food, fiber, and natural resources systems, and
WHEREAS, FFA
promotes premier leadership, personal growth, and career success among itsmembers; and
WHEREAS, FFA members
develop skills in teamwork, public speaking, responsibility, and communityinvolvement; and
WHEREAS, the FFA
motto - "Learning to Do, Doing to Learn, Earning to Live, Living toServe" - gives direction and purpose to these students who take an active
role in succeeding in agriculture education; and
WHEREAS, FFAempowers students to build confidence, character, and a strong work ethic while
serving others;
NOW, THEREFORE, I,Jeffrey Youtsey, Mayor Pro Tem of the City of Artesia, do proclaim the week of
February 21-28, 2026 as
FFA WEEK
And encourage thecitizens of Artesia to recognize and celebrate the achievements of FFA members.
