This week, Mayor Jon Henry issued a proclamation declaring the week of October 22nd through October 28th National Respiratory Care Week. The proclamation was presented to Artesia General Hospital staff in Council Chambers. Artesia is proud to be home to respiratory therapists and other medical associates who are dedicated to the health and wellbeing of their patients.

The proclamation by Mayor Henry emphasizes the vital role respiratory therapists play in our healthcare teams and recognizes that these individuals are specially trained to help patients achieve optimal respiratory function and health. This week we take extra care to thank respiratory therapists for their dedication and expertise as well as educate ourselves and others on the importance of lung health. Mayor Henry encouraged all citizens of Artesia to increase their awareness about lung health and respiratory diseases and to make healthy lifestyle choices.

Together, we celebrate the dedicated respiratory therapists in Artesia and across the nation who make an incredible difference in our community and their patients lives through their unwavering commitment to the health and wellbeing of all.
