Two officers from the Artesia Police Department recently received honors from the Eddy County DWI Program. Officer Alexander Williams was awarded the Excellent DWI Enforcement Officer award and Officer Chris Villegas was given the Outstanding DWI Enforcement Officer award.
The awards were presented on Friday, December 6, 2024 at the Eddy County DWI Program Law Enforcement Tribute. The awards are held yearly and are presented to the officers who make the most arrests for driving while under the influence in different departments throughout Eddy County.
We want to thank officers Williams and Villegas for their work in keeping our streets safe.
According to Eddy County DWI Program's website, they fund activities directed at the reduction of driving under the influence of alcohol and other drugs resulting in fewer impaired driving crashes, injuries and deaths.
