Any permanent or temporary resident of Artesia or the surrounding area may obtain a library card at no charge. Library cards are issued in person, at the library, upon presentation of a valid photo ID and proof of your mailing address. Temporary cards expire after one year.

For individuals under the age of 18 to receive a library card, the parent or legal guardian must sign their application card.
Please report lost or stolen cards, or if your contact information has changed as soon as possible. There is a $1.00 charge to replace lost cards.
Patrons may renew materials in person, by phone at 746-4252 or by e-mail ( This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. ). Subject to prior requests of other patrons for the materials, Items may be renewed one time.
Patrons may request materials that are already checked out, or that have been ordered but have not yet been received by the library. Patrons will be notified when they become available. Materials not picked up after one (1) week will be returned to the shelf. Requests may be made in person, by phone, or by e-mail.
