Elections

The City Clerk serves as the chief election official for the City of Artesia and is responsible for the administration of all city elections. Regular city elections are held the first Tuesday in March of even-numbered years. The positions of Mayor, City Councilor, and Municipal Judge are four-year terms. Artesia has four dual-member council districts and one member from each district is elected at each election.

Candidate packets are available in December prior to the city election. Voter Registration Forms are available online or at the following locations:

  • City Hall- 511 W. Texas
  • Public Library- 205 W Quay
  • North Eddy County Clerk's Office
  • Motor Vehicle Department
